Nearby in the mountains to the north there are riding stables for trekking, climbing routes, via ferrata and organised excursions on quad bikes. Around the lake there is tandem parascending, mountain biking ,walking and a golf course in Garda open to those with a certified handicap

Europa Holidays do not manage the following activities but can provide you with all the information you need and assistance with travelling to or from the venues. Most are within 30 minutes drive from our base at Navene, near Malcesine.

• Cross mountains on the many 'via ferrata' - exciting, technical and safe
• Climb on the managed and graded routes in one of the most popular Alpine climbing areas
• Parapente from Monte Baldo and see the whole lake
• Parascending behind a speedboat (south end of the lake only)
• Day trips on the Siora Veronica, a traditional two-masted schooner

Family and childrens' adventures

Whilst we do not offer an organised children's club there are many family activities that can be enjoyed at Lake Garda. Italy is the most child friendly destination that you can choose for your holiday and children of all ages are welcomed in restaurants and bars. the midday winds are ideal for children to start their sailing careers and for this purpose we have boats, windsurfers and other equipment adapted specially for children as well as sympathetic instructors who can lead them on their first steps.

For those children who are too young or for whom sailing and windsurfing hold no interest there are many other child friendly activities to experience such as kayak or SUP. For a fun-filled day away from the lake, consider a trip to Malcesine for the whole family

The Lake and swimming

The Lake water is wonderfully clean with no major surface currents and is a great place for children to swim and play. The water is very thin compared to sea water and so we recommend the use of arm bands or rubber rings for those not swimming confidently.

Theme parks

Gardaland situated at the southern end of the lake is one of the largest theme parks in Europe and has many roller coasters and spectacular rides as well as themed villages and activities for small children. During the summer months it is open until late in the evening so adults can also enjoy the rides. Caneva is a themed water park with many pools and slides as well as what is billed as the highest Stuka slide in Europe, suffice it to say there are many who climb the steps to ride it and a fair number who descend once again by the steps deciding ‘caution is the better part of valour’

For those who like their thrills in a swimming costume, the 'Caneva' water park at Movieland (Movie Park and Aqua Park) has slides and rides to test the strongest nerve.

Parco Natura

A Safari park where the animals are on display in a very large fenced enclosure that you drive through by car. With many exotic animals including Lions and Rhinos, this open plan zoo is a breeding centre for endangered species and also houses many rare animals confiscated by customs while in the process of being illegally imported into Italy. There is also a dinosaur feature with life-sized reproductions of the dinosaurs in a natural setting.
